About the song, "Secrets":

The original idea had been kicking around since 9/02/10. I remember because I dated the scratch track, 90210 oddly enough, the date that day. Once I finally got around to tracking the song, I did it in one day in my home studio. I played all the instruments and sang my vocals into my Logic Pro set up. I'm not really a drummer by trade so I played the song sections, one section at a time. I love working this way because I can keep the flow going and I don't have to spend all my time getting sounds. Once it was close, I had my buddy Shawn come over, who plays drums with me in The Conniption Fits, and he played all the fills and tricky bits.

I used "Radio Fat Kit" and did not tweak one setting. It's that good. I may have run it through a bus compressor at a modest setting. I didn't even add additional reverb. I used Line 6's Pod Farm for guitars and some vocal pre's.

Before SSD I had to record live drums. Now I am able to finish projects in a day as opposed to a week. Plus, the sounds are better than anything I have ever gotten myself. And that is hard to admit.
