Midi Mapping Support and Custom Map Creation
Question
What MIDI kit and devices will my Steven Slate Drums software be compatible with, and how do I create a custom map?
Answer
SSD is compatible with any MIDI device - MIDI Controller Keyboard, E-Drums, etc...
We are working on mapping presets for a variety of MIDI devices and sampling softwares.
-----------------------------------------
Custom Map Creation via the Map Converter
* Ensure you are using latest SSD Sampler for Map Converter option
In the "Map Converter" page you can change the mapping of any kit piece articulation to any note with a simple drag and drop...
- Click and hold on the articulation you would like to move.
- Drag that to the MIDI note you wish.
- That note will now trigger the articulation sample.
You may save the conversion/map file by selecting "Save Conversion" button, a dialog box will appear asking you to name and save the .iom map to the default IOMaps folder (found in your SSD4Library folder). Further, you may wish to set this as default by selecting the "Set as Default" button.
To load/change a map, simply click the "Load Conversion" button in the Map Converter page.
In addition to reassigning articulations via the Map Converter page, you may also reassign them via the "Edit Instrument" page by selecting a kit piece and changing MIDI note via the drop down list to the right of the articulation in the window pane. Note, you will still need to save conversion/map file via the Map Converter.

I too would like to see much more detail in how to map an electronic drumset. Stop me if you've heard this, but how about a MIDI Learn feature? How many drummers do you know that can easily map a drumset based on note values, versus just clicking a drum on screen then just hit the pad they wish to trigger that drum sound? The doucmentation you have online does not even match the GUI in the current version (1.097 as of now), so your mapping instructions are impossible to follow without downgrading, and even then, they are cumbersome at best...

How do I get a note to trigger the same sample as another note? Say I want B0 and C1 to trigger the exact same set of samples. Is there a "copy" function? Or another simple solution rather than just adding the same sample onto the empty sample slots?
Thanks!
